Temporary Services (Temporary Resident)

You are entitled to see a doctor anywhere in the United Kingdom as a temporary resident if you are away from home and in need of medical help. Where medically necessary we will ensure that you will be seen by an available clinician and be treated accordingly. We will be happy to see any relatives or friends staying with you if they need a doctor.

Should you run out of medication whilst visiting the area (either on holiday, working or back from university for example), we ask that you contact your own GP surgery for repeat prescription in the first instance. All the local pharmacies will either accept a faxed prescription from your GP or via the new Electronic Prescription Service. This way your GP surgery will be able to keep a track of the medication that you have been issued with and will be able to treat your conditions correctly.

The practice can see EU citizens with a valid medical insurance card for free if the condition materialises whilst on holiday in the UK. However payment for services may be necessary dependent upon the country of origin and reason for visit.

Thank you for your assistance in these matters we hope that you have a pleasant stay in the area.
