UP in BCP Services for Young People
Support for young people aged 12-19 (up to 25 if they have SEN/disability) in Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole.
BCP Council has developed the UP brand to bring together young people’s services from across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Services are delivered both face-to-face and virtually, via a range of digital mediums.
UP in BCP has three Youth Access points for face-to-face delivery:
- Number 18 in Poole
- Sussed in Kinson
- The 507 in Boscombe
The Youth Access Points provide support, information, advice and guidance (IAG) to young people aged 12-19 years (25 with SEN/Disability) who are residents of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. IAG is provided on a range of issues including but not limited to; post 16 options and careers, family breakdown, substance misuse, sexual health and housing.
The team is also responsible for:
- Identifying and supporting young people in school years 12 and 13 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and young people in year 11 who may be at risk of NEET
- Providing 1:1 work to young people who are post statutory school age (16+) via Adolescent Support workers, who provide assessment, planning and review for young people aged 16+ with significant or complex needs.
